Late Sd. Pala Singh Bhogal

Sd. Pala Singh Bhogal was a Govt. contractor, who lived in Shimla (Grand Father of Sd. Mohinder Singh Bhogal of Ludhiana).

In 1919, he imported B.S.A. Cross Bar Bicycle from U.K. along with one Bishop, two military men and one contractor. Under special permission of the Governor, they were allowed to use cycles on ‘The Mall’ only for one hour in a day. Hundreds of people visited to see the fair at that particular hour on the Mall, Shimla. Later, a firm was formed under the name of Singh & Co. with shops on Railway Road, Jalandhar and Bazar Vakillan, Hoshiarpur, which imported bicycles in the year 1930 onwards. It was his ethics of hard work, loyalty & spiritual virtues that is evident in his bloodline.
